Nimíipuu (Nez Perce) Art Gift to Pullman Schools • •
EDJE was honored to give the gift of Nimíipuu art to the Pullman School District by Helen Goodteacher after a professional development day led and facilitated by Nimíipuu | Nez Perce Education Department.
Helen is a member of the Nez Perce Tribe with Sioux and Ponca descent. Helen grew up on the Nez Perce tribal accustomed lands and worked for her tribe for over 15 years before her and her daughter relocated to Spokane, Washington to further her career in communications. Most recently, Helen created a small business (link provided) providing graphic design and marketing, art classes, and creating and selling her personal art.
2025 Culture Night • Jefferson Elementary School •
Jefferson’s 3rd Annual Culture Night was a resounding success, with so many families attendees enjoying traditional foods, cultural displays, and activities such as name writing in different languages. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and many families expressed how meaningful it was to see their traditions celebrated and valued. - Rose Maleki
